Swarthmore's Lytle Named Player of the Week

Katie Lytle was named the MVP of the 13th Annual Swarthmore Tip-Off Tournament and became the ninth player in program history to score at least 1,000 points in her career after leading the Garnet to a 2-0 start with wins over Kean, 59-42, and Connecticut College by a 58-55 score. Lytle, who registered a double-double in both games, most notably racked up 29 points, 14 rebounds and five steals in the championship battle against Connecticut College. All three marks against the Camels were game highs.

Dickinson freshman Erica Buls earned Days Inn TIp-Off All-Tournament team honors, leading the Red Devils to the championship game. She averaged 15.5 points and 7.5 rebounds, shooting 65 percent from the floor. She tied a tournament record with four blocked shots against Hood College, adding a pair of steals and two assists on the weekend.

Gettysburg senior Caroline Murphy was named MVP of the Frostburg State University Jim Crawley Tournament after leading the Bullets with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists per game. Murphy turned in 14 points and 11 boards as Gettysburg knocked off No. 18 William Paterson 51-47 in the opener. The senior forward canned four free throws in the final 20 seconds to help seal the win. Murphy finished the tournament with 12 points and nine rebounds in a 63-47 win over King's in the championship game.

Haverford junior Jacquelyn Pizzuto, named the MVP of the Marymount Tip-Off Tournament, hit the game-winner with seven ticks on the clock as the Fords edged TCNJ, 50-49, to claim the tourney title.

McDaniel junior Steph Perez led Green Terror to the title at its own Tipoff Tournament.

Muhlenberg junior Leanna Tallamy averaged 20.5 points and 13.0 rebounds to earn MVP honors and lead Muhlenberg to the Scotty Wood Tournament championship. She shot 62.5 percent from the field and recorded double-doubles in both games, including a 23-point, 12-rebound effort against Misericordia in the title game.
