Katie Clark, So, Johns Hopkins

Clark led Hopkins in scoring in wins over Dickinson and Ursinus this past week, helping the Blue Jays stay undefeated in the Centennial Conference (9-0) and get off to their best start since the 1997-98 season. Clark had a career-high 20 points in the team's victory over Dickinson on January 16, and made crucial free throws down the stretch to hold off Ursinus 71-67 Saturday afternoon. 


 

 

 

 

Notes:

Dickinson freshman Erica Buls averaged 8.5 points and 7.6 rebounds last week. She controlled seven rebounds on the offensive end, and hit 11-of-15 free throws (73%).

Franklin & Marshall senior Kristina McCarthy tallied two double-doubles last week with 14 points and 17 rebounds at Muhlenberg and 18 points and 14 rebounds against McDaniel. She added three blocks at Muhlenberg and two blocks against McDaniel.

Gettysburg senior Caroline Murphy averaged 16.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game in a 2-1 week for the Bullets. She posted double-doubles in each of her first two outings, putting up 18 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to Haverford and logging 17 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Ursinus. She also dished out a career-high eight assists in the loss to the Fords. In the final game of the week, Murphy scored 11 of her team-high 15 points in the second half as Gettysburg completed a season sweep of Swarthmore with a 55-47 decision.

Haverford senior Nina Voith averaged 19 points per game and shot over 45 % from the floor as the Fords went 3-0 on the week. Voith's game-high 22 points against Gettysburg helped the Fords beat the Bullets for just the second time in program history and first time at Haverford.

McDaniel sophomore Lindsey Nichols led the Green Terror to pair of key conference road wins.. She matched her career high with 16 points at Swarthmore on Tuesday with career-best four 3-pointers. 

Muhlenberg junior Leanna Tallamy shot 58.3 percent from the field and averaged 19.0 points per game, leading the Mules in scoring in all three games of a 2-1 week. She led all scorers with 18 points in only 18 minutes vs. Franklin & Marshall and 24 vs. Swarthmore. Tallamy also pulled down 13 rebounds, including 10 at the offensive end, in the three games.

Swarthmore senior Katie Lytle once again averaged a double-double over a 1-2 week for the Garnet. Her best performance came against Gettysburg in which she contributed 18 points and 17 rebounds.

Washington College senior Latisha Pledger averaged a double-double for the Shorewomen in a pair of games this past week with 11 points per game and 13.5 rebounds per game.  She grabbed a game-best 14 rebounds in the 53-43 win over Ursinus on January 14 and added 12 points.  Pledger notched a contest-best 13 boards and scored 10 points at Muhlenberg on January 18.

Kristina McCarthy, Sr, Franklin & Marshall

Kristina McCarthy scored a career-high 23 points against Swarthmore on Jan. 8 and followed it by scoring 21 on Jan. 11 at Washington. McCarthy notched 21 rebounds in the game against Swarthmore, and brought down 10 rebounds against Washington, which resulted in two double-double last week and five straight on the season.

Katie Lytle, Sr, Swarthmore

Senior Katie Lytle led Swarthmore to a 97-80 road victory over Cal Tech by racking up 22 points on efficient shooting from the field as well as 24 rebounds, which matched a Centennial Conference single-game record. Lytle also recorded her 41st career double-double before halftime by accumulating 12 points and 15 boards over the first 20 minutes of play. She also contributed three assists, three steals and two blocks in the game while shooting an efficient 58.8 percent from the field (10-for-17) and a perfect 2-for-2 from the line.

Caroline Murphy, Sr, Gettysburg

Murphy averaged 11.5 points per game as Gettysburg finished 1-1 at the Daytona Beach Shootout. In a 55-42 win over Benedictine (Ill.), she scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds while shooting 5-for-10 from the field and 5-for-5 at the foul line. Murphy finished 7-for-7 at the charity stripe for the week.

Katie Lytle, Sr, Swarthmore

Lytle poured in 23 points and collected 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season in a loss to Widener. She connected on 11-of-18 shots from the floor and added three assists and two steals.

Katie Lytle, Sr, Swarthmore

Katie Lytle led the Garnet to a 2-1 week, including 1-1 in conference play, by averaging 19.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 63.6 percent from the field. She led the team in scoring, rebounding, steals and field goal percentage and was second on the squad in assists. Lytle started the week by racking up 20 points, eight rebounds and six steals while shooting 8-for-11 from the field in just 21 minutes of action in an 85-26 rout of Bryn Mawr. She also contributed 19 points, eight rebounds and four steals against Johns Hopkins before concluding the week with 18 points and seven boards in a road win over Dickinson.

Nina Voith, Sr, Haverford,

Voith's career-high 27 points against Muhlenberg helped the Fords upend previously undefeated Muhlenberg on its home floor -- a place where Haverford had registered just one previous win in program history. The senior guard, who just missed a double-double with nine rebounds, moved into third place on the program's all-time scoring list with the sensational effort that included an 11-for-12 performance from the free throw line.

Leanna Tallamy, Jr, Muhlenberg

Tallamy averaged 20.0 points and 8.5 rebounds and made important plays as Muhlenberg opened its CC season with two overtime wins. She contributed to six of the Mules' 10 points in the extra period against Swarthmore with three points and an assist, and her three-point play with 1:04 left in overtime accounted for what proved to be the winning points against Washington.

Katie Lytle, Sr, Swarthmore

Katie Lytle was named the MVP of the 13th Annual Swarthmore Tip-Off Tournament and became the ninth player in program history to score at least 1,000 points in her career after leading the Garnet to a 2-0 start with wins over Kean, 59-42, and Connecticut College by a 58-55 score. Lytle, who registered a double-double in both games, most notably racked up 29 points, 14 rebounds and five steals in the championship battle against Connecticut College. All three marks against the Camels were game highs.
