BALTIMORE, Md. – McDaniel closed the game on an 11-2 run to defeat Johns Hopkins 67-58 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball action on Tuesday.

Lindsey Nichols (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) led the Green Terror (16-1, 10-1 CC) with a career-high 29 points.

Katie Clark paced the Blue Jays (11-7, 8-4 CC) with 14 points, including 12 in the second half.

Tied at 56-all, Nichols canned a 3-pointer from the right wing with 1:36 to play to spark the final rally.

Clark responded with a jumper at the other end to close to within one before two Brittney Davis (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) free throws with 1:03 to play stretched the lead back to three.

McDaniel went 6-for-8 from the stripe in the final 36 seconds to seal the victory.

Johns Hopkins built an 11-8 lead on a Ciara McCullagh layup with 12:06 to play before Davis hit a jumper 80 seconds later to spark a 10-1 burst.

Two Steph Perez (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) 3-pointer keyed the run that put the Green Terror in front 18-12 with 7:50 to play.

McDaniel stretched the lead to as large eight on a Nichols jumper with 2:34 to play en route to 26-22 halftime edge.

Back-to-back baskets from Clark evened the game at 26-all just one minute into the second half.

A Jasmine Smith (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) layup capped a 7-1 stretch that pushed the lead to 35-28 with 14:34 showing.

Six straight Johns Hopkins points, including back-to-back layups from Liz Tommasi evened the game at 45-all with 8:41 on the clock before the teams traded baskets over the next five minutes.

Alyssa March (Fallston, Md./Fallston) and Perez finished with nine points each while March added 10 rebounds. Smith and Emma Wingerd (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) added four assists each.

The Green Terror returns to action at Washington (Md.) on Thursday. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
