The Gettysburg College women's basketball team claimed the Frostburg State University Jim Crawley Tip-Off Tournament championship for the second consecutive season, downing the host Bobcats 60-49 on Sunday. Gettysburg (2-0) was led by seniors Jenna Swope (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and Samantha Pagel (Harleysville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) who each poured in 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Junior Jessica Porter (Narberth, Pa./Lower Merion) added 11 points and two blocks on the way to MVP honors. Pagel was also named All-Tournament. Swope finished 6-of-8 from the field, including 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. Pagel missed only one of her six shots and canned 7-of-8 attempts from the charity stripe. Both seniors finished with career highs for points. Porter averaged 16 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 blocks over the tournament to land MVP accolades.

McDaniel scored the first 20 points of the second half to turn a 32-30 edge into a 22-point margin en route to a 74-59 victory over Mount St. Vincent in the championship game of the 2014 McDaniel Tipoff Tournament in women's basketball action on Sunday. Lindsey Nichols (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) led the Green Terror (2-0) with a career-best 25 points while adding 11 rebounds for her first collegiate double-double. Steph Perez (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) chipped in 14 points to finish the day with 1,001 career points and become the 15th player in program history to reach the milestone. The duo earned spots on the all-tournament team for their play. With 4:22 to play, Nichols passed from the left elbow to Perez and the right elbow and the senior swished the jumper to join the elite 1,000-point club, reestablishing a 20-point lead in the process. Brittney Davis (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) chipped in five assists while Perez dished out four helpers and Nichols swiped four steals.
