Gettysburg's Keeler Selected Defensive Players of the Week

Shannon Keeler, So, GK, Gettysburg

Keeler posted a season-high 11 saves as No. 6 Gettysburg knocked off No. 2 Franklin & Marshall 14-11 on April 22. Keeler posted five saves in the opening frame and six in the final period, including two in the final 1:24. In three career meetings with the Diplomats, the Bullet keeper has racked up 36 saves. Keeler also earned the win while playing the opening minutes of a victory at Bryn Mawr.

Kaitlin Hardt, Jr, GK, Franklin & Marshall

Berlin, Md. / Stephen Decatur

Hardt picked up two victories last week with six saves and a 3.33 goals against average. She allowed just one goal in 30 minutes of action in F&M's 15-4 win over Ursinus and finished the week with six stops in the 19-4 victory over Haverford on Saturday.

Tallied a 4.00 goals against average, a .625 save percentage and a 1-0 record in a pair of wins for the Shorewomen this past week.  In the team's 11-6 win over visiting Dickinson on Saturday, she turned away 10 shots to help WC end a three-game losing streak, all by one goal, to the Red Devils.  She made three of her saves when Washington was clinging to a 7-6 lead in the second, including a free position stop with 17:31 to go.  In the squad's 16-0 win at Bryn Mawr on Wednesday, she played the final 30 minutes of the game and did not surrender a goal.

Shannon Keeler, So, GK, Gettysburg

Keeler made nine saves while allowing just five goals in a 2-0 week for the Bullets. She stopped nine shots and didn't allow a goal over the final 28 minutes of a 15-5 win at Dickinson. Keeler only played the first half of a blowout of Swarthmore, turning away both shots she saw on goal. The Bullet goalie recorded a save percentage of 68.8 percent and has posted a scoreless streak of 58:36.

Emily Tropsa, Jr, D, Gettysburg

Tropsa was responsible for shutting down the Centennial Conference's top scorer over the weekend. The junior midfielder dogged Muhlenberg's Stephanie Umbach for the entire 60 minutes and held the Mules' attacker scoreless for the first time 41 games. She tallied one caused turnover in the contest and helped the Bullets hold Muhlenberg to just 13 shots and 8-of-17 on clear attempts. Earlier in the week, Tropsa helped the Bullets knock down No. 15 York by recording a goal, one ground ball, one caused turnover, and two draw controls.

 

Lily Galzerano, Sr, GK, McDaniel

Galzerano led the Green Terror to a 9-7 win over Haverford on Saturday. She made 16 saves and finished the day with a save percentage of .696.

Connie Bowen, Swarthmore

Summit, N.J. / Summit HS

Bowen led the Garnet to a perfect 3-0 week, registering a 54.3 save percentage and a 5.71 goals-against average. She had eight saves in the 11-8 triumph over Ursinus.

Haylee Solomon, So, GK, Washington College

Went 2-0 with a 5.35 goals against average and a .588 save percentage in a pair of wins for Washington College in Florida. On the 9th, she made a career-best 10 saves in a 14-7 win over Roger Williams. Three of her 10 stops came on free position chances. Did not allow a goal in 18:30 of action in the Shorewomen's 17-0 shutout victory over Rhode Island College.

Moira Mahoney, Dickinson

Junior, Defender, Wayne, Pa./Radnor

Mahoney had another strong performance in a thrilling double-overtime win over Messiah. She controlled a game-high 11 ground balls, causing four turnovers and collected four draw controls. The Red Devil defense held the Falcons scoreless for the final 13 minutes, overcoming a four-goal deficit.

Lily Galzerano, McDaniel

Senior, GK, Newburyport, Mass.

McDaniel senior Lily Galzerano led the Green Terror to a 2-0 week, posting a 6.00 GAA and 70.7 save percentage. She made a total of 29 saves in the two games and pitched a shutout in the second half against Goucher.
