Paige Moriarty, Franklin & Marshall; Maddie Mullen, Washington College
For the second week in a row, Franklin & Marshall attack Paige Moriarty was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Offensive Player of the Week for women's lacrosse. The honor is the second for Moriarty this season and the third award for a member of the women's lacrosse team.
Moriarty (Glen Ridge, N.J. / Glen Ridge HS) scored nine goals and assisted on three others in a 1-1 week for the fifth-ranked Diplomats. She tallied three times with a helper in the 12-10 setback to fourth-ranked Salisbury and notched six goals with two assists in an 18-12 win versus Muhlenberg on Saturday.
Junior goalie Maddie Mullen (Fair Haven, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven Regional) has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week for women's lacrosse for the week of March 21-27. This is the first time she has won the conference's weekly award.
Mullen posted a .579 save percentage and a 4.75 goals-against average in a 2-0 week for the Shorewomen. She allowed just two goals in 41 minutes of work in the 14-5 triumph versus St. Joseph's (L.I.) and made eight saves in the 10-6 victory against Rowan. The junior had total 11 saves in the two wins this past week.
She is the second Washington College women's lacrosse player to win the award in a three-week span. Junior defender Anna Inserra (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollows Hills West)won the award on March 14.
