WESTMINSTER, Md. - Stevens crowned six individual champions on its way to a record-setting point total and the 2016 Centennial Conference wrestling championship.

The Ducks defended their title with 121 points, easily outdistancing Merchant Marine who was second with 69.5. The 51.5-point margin of victory was the largest in the 23-year history of the Conference. USMMA won the 2009 championship by 50 points over Ursinus.

Stevens placed seven wrestlers in the finals and came away with six gold medals. Sophomore 184 A.J. Kowal recorded two falls and a major decision on his way to a repeat championship performance. Other golds went to 125 Rob Murray, 141 Ryan Wilson, 157 Vic Del Monico, 165 Colin Navickas and 285 Tyler Maher.

McDaniel 133 Ryan O'Boyle won his third Centennial title with a first-period fall. He received the Chris Clifford Award as the senior with the most tournament points in his career.

Merchant Marine 149 Nathan Twito joined his brother, Dan, as a Centennial champion as he pulled out a 4-3 decision. His older brother captured the 2009 championship at the same weight class.

Johns Hopkins' Jared Forman won the 174-pound weight class with a 7-5 overtime decision over the top-seed. He was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the championship.

Merchant Marine won its second weight class when Ricky Fisher captured the crown at 197 with a major decision.

Ursinus still holds the Centennial lead in all-time champions with 53, followed by McDaniel (42) and Muhlenberg (38). Merchant Marine is next with 27 with Stevens (23), Gettysburg (21), Johns Hopkins (21), Washington and Lee (2) and NYU (1) trailing.
