Preseason Coaches Poll | Record Book

Bryn Mawr (5-10-1 in 2011, 0-9-1 CC, T-10th place)
Head Coach: Erin DeMarco (Ithaca '01), 6th season
Team Page | Roster | Schedule | 2011 Statistics

Key Losses: Rebecca Feuerhammer 5-0-10, Carrie Schoonover 2-1-5.
Preseason Poll Projection: 11th
Outlook: The Owls will be improved along the backline with the return of Siu and Joseph. Who will put the ball in the back of the net is more of an issue after the graduation loss of the team's top two scorers from a year ago. Bryn Mawr may not be ready to contend for a Centennial playoff berth but should be improved this fall.

Dickinson (10-5-1 in 2011, 6-4 CC, T-5th place)
Head Coach: Kelly Tyrrell (Colgate '00), 5th season
Team Page | Roster | Schedule | 2011 Statistics

Key Returnees: Julia Thayer, So, F, 8-2-18; Sam Friday, Jr, F, 4-2-10; Allie Young, Soph, M, 3-3-9; Casey Reilly, Sr, M, 0-2-2; Marissa Kunkle, Sr, B, 6-3-15, 1st team All-CC; Ashley Fields, Sr, B, 2-4-8; Annie Weichert, Sr, GK, 80.2 sv%, 5 ShO.
Key Losses: Brenna McKelvey, B, 2nd team All-CC, 0-0-0.
Preseason Poll Projection: 5th
Outlook: The Red Devils missed the playoffs after reaching the Centennial final in three successive seasons. However, the experience gained during the stretch run will prove valuable in 2012. Kunkle and Thayer are a potent offensive pair, while Friday and Young complement them well. Reilly and Fields lead the defense in front of Weichert, one of the top 'keepers in the CC. Dickinson is poised to return to the Conference tournament again in 2012.

Franklin & Marshall (8-7-1 in 2011, 6-4 CC, lost to Haverford in CC 1st round, 3-0)
Head Coach: Bill Esterly (Alfred '93), 2nd season
Team Page | Roster | Schedule | 2011 Statistics

Key Returnees: Amanda McGowan, Jr., GK, 1st team All-CC, 73.0 sv%, 8 ShO; Nancy Epstein, Jr, D, 3-0-6; Spencer Plante, Soph, M, 2-1-5; Holly Lagasse, Sr, B, 0-1-1; Megan Rubenstein, Soph, B, 0-0-0.
Key Losses: Bailey Huber, M, 1st team All-CC, 0-0-0; Henley Siegrist, B, 1st team All-CC, 0-0-0.
Preseason Poll Projection: 6th
Outlook: Two years removed from a 3-15 season, the Diplomats qualified for the Conference playoffs last season with a winning record. F&M won all six of its CC matches last season by 1-0 counts and will look to McGowan to backstop the defense once again. Epstein and Plante will need to provide more offense for the Diplomats to make more noise in the Centennial this fall.

Gettysburg (12-7 in 2011, 8-2 CC, lost to Johns Hopkins in CC final, 2-0)
Head Coach: Matt Garrett (Slippery Rock), 6th season
Team Page | Roster | Schedule | 2011 Statistics

Key Losses: Sara Montague, M, 1-0-2, 1st team All-CC; Sam Hellerman, B, 0-0-0; Allie Rivera, GK, 67.5 sv%, 7 ShO.
Preseason Poll Projection: 2nd
Outlook: The Bullets reached the Centennial final last season and returns a number of veterans in an attempt to return in 2012. Attanasio, Phillips and West are a potent scoring trio, but Gettysburg must find replacements on defense for the graduated Montague, Hellerman and Rivera.

Haverford (12-3-4 in 2011, 6-2-2 CC, lost to Johns Hopkins in CC semifinals, 3-0)
Head Coach: Jamie Gluck (Muhlenberg '03), 6th season

Key Losses: Katie Van Aken, F, 8-6-22, 1st team All-CC; Sarah Andrade, M, 3-3-9, Honorable Mention All-CC; Anna Rayne, M, 0-3-3; Erin Verrier, B, 0-0-0.
Preseason Poll Projection: 4th
Outlook: The Fords reached the Centennial semifinals last season and are poised for another deep run in the Conference tournament. The backline is strong with the return of Newman and Chernow, while Boyer and Chen provide experience and scoring potential upfront. If another scorer and defender can be found to replace Van Aken and Verrier, Haverford can contend for the 2012 title.

Johns Hopkins (21-1 in 2011, 10-0 CC, defeated Gettysburg in CC final, 2-0; eliminated by Amherst in NCAA Sweet 16, 2-0)

Key Losses: Erica Suter, F, 19-15-53, CC Player of the Year; Jessica Hnatiuk, B, 2-3-7, 1st team All-CC; Paulina Goodman, Sr, F, 13-9-35, 2nd team All-CC; Kristen Redsun, GK, 85.4 sv%, 4 ShO, 2nd team All-CC.
Preseason Poll Projection: 1st
Outlook:The seven-time defending champion Blue Jays certainly have the talent to make it eight in a row in 2012. Picked third nationally in the preseason, Hopkins turns to the one-two punch of Kronick and Vranis, who combined for 28 goals a year ago, on offense. Schulte and Maguire step into the defensive leadership roles held by Hnatiuk and Redsun. How fast the newcomers adapt to the collegiate game will determine the Jays' fate this fall.

McDaniel (3-13 in 2011, 2-8 CC, 9th place)
Head Coach: Sandy Lagana (Bridgewater '04), 1st season
Team Page | Roster | Schedule | 2011 Statistics

Key Losses: Kelly Crawford, F, 3-1-7.
Preseason Poll Projection: 9th
Outlook: A new day is dawning on The Hill with a new coach in Lagana. Hart had a strong rookie campaign and leads the defense in front of Woolley, while Pope and Diffendal will need to provide more offensive spark if the Terror is to make a leap into the Conference's first division.

Muhlenberg (6-10-2 in 2011, 3-6-1 CC, 8th place)
Head Coach: Leslie Benintend (Cortland '92), 18th season
Team Page | Roster | Schedule | 2011 Statistics

Preseason Poll Projection: 7th
Outlook: The Mules missed the Conference playoffs for the third straight season and will have to replace their top two scorers and their goalkeeper to break the trend. Meola, Graetzer and Touhey will need to step up their offensive production, while Neary and Tramutola will have to provide veteran leadership in front of a new 'keeper. If everything comes together, 'Berg will contend for a playoff spot come November.

Swarthmore (12-7 in 2011, 7-3 CC, lost to Gettysburg in CC semifinals, 1-0)
Head Coach: Todd Anckaitis (Lafayette '95), 8th season
Team Page | Roster | Schedule | 2011 Statistics

Key Losses: Alexa Ross, M, 0-1-1, 1st team All-CC; Marie Mutryn, GK, 74.3 sv%, 5 ShO.
Preseason Poll Projection: 3rd
Outlook: The Garnet reached the Conference tourney for the fifth time in six years last season but has not played in a Centennial final since 2006. Sindelar and Brock are a potent offensive duo, while Spiegel and Bachmanhuff have experience on the backline. Who steps up for the graduated Mutryn in goal could decide Swat's fate in 2012.

Ursinus (7-8-1 in 2011, 4-5-1 CC, 7th place)
Head Coach: Kelly Wakeman (Moravian '04), 1st season
Team Page | Roster | Schedule | 2011 Statistics

Key Returnees: Ama Achiaw, Soph, F, 4-0-8; Valerie Bedrock, Soph, M, 0-6-6; Mary Kate McCrea, Jr, B, 0-0-0; Kara DiJoseph, Jr, GK, 66.1 sv%, 1 ShO.
Key Losses: Jess Porcelan, M, 6-3-15, 2nd team All-CC; Monica Oliveto, B, 2-0-4, 2nd team All-CC; Alex Shivers, F, 0-1-1; Brittany Williams, B, 1-0-2; Angela Lenzo, B, 0-0-0.
Preseason Poll Projection: 8th
Outlook: Wakeman takes over at the helm of the Bears, looking to return to the playoffs for just the second time since 2007. Replacing Porcelan and Oliveto will be keys to the season, along with the anticipated improvement of Achiaw, Bedrock and DiJoseph. A playoff spot is not out of the question for UC, but the team must come together quickly with Wakeman's new system.

Washington College (2-13-1 in 2011, 0-9-1 CC, T-10th place)

Key Losses: Tori Ripple, GK, 71.3 sv%, Honorable Mention All-CC; Gabby Devaud, M, 1-1-3.
Preseason Poll Projection: 10th
Outlook: There's a lot of excitement in the air in Chestertown with the arrival of Drugan as head coach. Smith and Bradley will be counted on for more offensive production, while Antalffy heads the backline. Soph GK Rebecca Potochney is untested and will receive a baptism by fire as the Shorewomen takes steps toward their first-ever Conference playoff berth in 2012.
