Championship Information

The pairings are set for the 2018 Centennial Conference women's soccer championship tournament.

The opening round match will pit No. 5 seed Haverford (8-5-3) at No. 4 seed Dickinson (10-3-4). The Fords are making their 12th appearance in the Centennial postseason and have a 4-10 overall record, including a 1-3 mark in opening-round matches. Haverford won the championship in 2012. The Red Devils are in the field for the fifth time and first since 2010. Dickinson is 5-4 overall and 1-0 in the opening round. Dickinson defeated Haverford, 1-0, on an overtime goal by Charlotte Glancey on Oct. 20. This is the first time the two teams have met in the Centennial tournament.

The winner advances to Saturday's semifinal against top-seeded Johns Hopkins (16-1) in Baltimore. The Blue Jays have appeared in all 18 Centennial tournaments, winning 11, and have a 27-6 all-time record in the CC postseason. Hopkins is 16-1 in the semifinal round and 4-0 against Dickinson and 5-1 versus Haverford in the playoffs. JHU knocked off the Fords, 2-0, on Sept. 29 and the Red Devils, 1-0, on Oct. 3.

The other semifinal pits No. 2 seed Swarthmore (13-2-2) and No. 3 seed McDaniel (10-4-1). The Garnet won its second Centennial title a year ago, defeating Hopkins in penalties. It is Swat's 11th appearance in the tournament with a 4-5 semifinal and 8-8 overall record. McDaniel qualified for its fifth Conference postseason event in the last six seasons. The Green Terror is 2-4 overall and 1-2 in semifinal action. Swarthmore blanked McDaniel, 3-0, on Sept. 22 behind a two-goal performance by Lizzie King. The schools have not met in the postseason.

The semifinal winners meet for the championship and the Conference's automatic berth to the NCAA tournament on Sunday at Johns Hopkins.
