Dickinson's Lyman Selected Swimmer of the Week

Lyman posted a triple-win on Saturday, turning in three strong performances. She won both distance events, clocking a winning time of 10:47.46 in the 1000 freestyle, 5:12.63 in the 500. She added her third win of the day in the 200 freestyle to lead the Red Devils past McDaniel.

Llewellyn placed first or second in five events to help lead the Bullets to the team title at the Gettysburg Invitational, which featured Dickinson, Mary Washington, Susquehanna, and Bryn Mawr. Individually, she won the 100-butterfly (57.58) while taking second in both the 100-backstroke (58.00) and 200-butterfly (2:09.63). She also swam on both the 200- and 400-medley relay teams, helping the 200 squad tie the school record (1:47.86).

Meyers continued her strong start to the season by winning the 1650-yard freestyle on Friday night at the F&M Invitational. Her time of 16:53.40 won the event by more than 23 second, broke the school record by more than 16 seconds, broke the conference record by more than 14 seconds, and is the second fastest time in DIII so far this year.

Meyers led the Diplomats against Johns Hopkins on Friday, winning two individual events on the evening. She opened her evening with an impressive performance in the 1000-yard freestyle, running away from the field to win with a time 10:34.57. Her dominance continued in the 500-yard freestyle, which she won in 5:06.80.

 

November 9, 2015 - Becca Meyers, Jr, Franklin & Marshall

Meyers took multiple individual crowns on Saturday against Swarthmore, winning the 1000-yard freestyle in 10:35.45. She also took the victory in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:08.55 before finishing off her day with a second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly. The week also saw Meyers gain national recognition, as she became one of five finalists for Team USA's Female Paralympian of the Year.

 

November 3, 2015 - Anna Hess, Fr, Franklin & Marshall

On Saturday against Washington, freshman Anna Hess had a big day in her college debut, earning top honors in three different individual events and another in relays. Her time of 1:02.05 was first in the 100-yard backstroke, while her time of 2:14.16 was first in the 200-yard backstroke. Her third individual victory came in the 200-yard IM. The team of Kellen McDonald, Melissa Mullin, Jillian Albus, and Hess also took gold in the 200-yard medley relay.
