Outlook: The Owls look to improve upon a developing program. They will look to two-time All-CC honoree, senior Lizzie Siegle for leadership this spring. Siegle went 7-7 on the year at the first singles spot. Bryn Mawr has potential to challenge some middle of the pack teams.

Top Newcomers: Neve Brennan (Lower Merion, Pa.); Hanna Butler (Severn School, Md.); Alexandra Epstein (Waynflete, Maine); Julia Poster (The Masters School, N.Y.); Chase Warner (Waynflete, Maine).

Key Losses: (2) Madison Parks, 2nd team All-CC singles/doubles; 8-6; (3) Joana Nunes, 2nd team All-CC doubles, 9-3.

Outlook: The Red Devils were just outside of the post-season cut-off last season, finishing 6th in the CC. Two of their three All-CC honorees graduated in the spring, leaving 2nd team All-CC singles honoree, senior Lauren Altschuler to lead the team this year. Dickinson will likely be in contention for a playoff appearance in 2018.


Allison Wolters, Franklin & Marshall

Outlook: The Diplomats made their 4th consecutive CC tournament appearance last spring. Conference Co-Player of the Year, Allison Wolters, returns to her junior season. Wolters had the most singles wins in the CC with a 15-5, 9-1 CC record and was recognized with 1st team All-CC honors in singles as well as doubles. Sarah Haas enters the season as a 2nd team All-CC doubles honorees in 2017. Keep an eye out for Franklin & Marshall in the post-season.


Samantha Boardman, Gettysburg

Key Losses: (2) Laura Gradiska, 8-8; (3) Gillian Minnerly, 4-10.

Outlook: The Bullets aspire for a winning conference record this season, which they have yet to possess since 2003. Junior Maria Martinovic will lead the team as a solid top singles player. Samantha Boardman, Maddy Class, and Emily Lutz will bring experience to the team as well.


Emily Shutman, Haverford

Outlook: The Fords made it to the conference playoffs for the 8th time in the past 9 years and have a high chance of making it again this spring. Haverford returns the majority of their lineup, including their #1 and #2 singles players from 2017, Emily Shutman and Greta Koch. If the incoming freshmen can make an immediate impact, this squad could make some noise in the conference.

Outlook: The Blue Jays look to capture their 12th straight Centennial Conference Championship. Sophia Strickland and Katie Gauch return as 1st team All-CC singles and 2nd team All-CC doubles selections from last year. Not only does Johns Hopkins have top players from last season, but they also welcome Anjie Kashyap who enters her rookie season ranked nationally at #27 and regionally at #4 in singles (ITA rankings). It will be hard to touch this powerhouse in 2018.


Maddy Simmons, McDaniel

Outlook: The Green Terror hope to improve from last season with the leadership of senior duo Maddy Simmons and Lindsay Russell. Sophomore Brenna Gutshall will also give McDaniel strength in the lineup. The squad will need to use their experience and freshmen talent to add some victories to the win column.

Outlook: The Mules return experienced players Hannah Molk and Meghan Olsen in hopes of having a winning conference record. Muhlenberg has not made the conference tournament since 2014. It is essential for several players to step up in the ranks this season.


Emma Kassan, Swarthmore

Outlook: The Garnet has great potential to make it back to the conference Championship this spring as they return six of their seven All-CC honorees from 2017. Emma Kassan will be a top contender at first singles having captured CC Co-Player of the Year, CC Rookie of the Year, and 1st team All-CC singles/doubles honors as a freshman. Vivien Fernandez and Anna Scheibmeieralso return as 1st team All-CC honorees. Shirline Wee, Maria Cuervo, and Julia Gokhberg round up the 2017 All-Conference returners. The clear depth of this team will be a tremendous challenge for their opponents.


Caitlyn Sorelle, Ursinus

Ursinus (12-7 overall, 4-6 Centennial, 7th place)

Key Losses: (5) Robin Alsher, 12-7; (6) Christine Palazzolo, 14-6.

Outlook: The Bears lost only two players from last year's lineup to graduation. The team will be led by 2nd team All-CC singles selection Aileen Bevard and 2nd team All-CC doubles honoree Ariel Danziger. Finishing one game short of .500 in the conference in 2017, it is very possible for Ursinus to make a run this spring.


Julie Lazer, Washington College

Outlook: The Shorewomen return the majority of their 2017 squad and look to make their fourth consecutive appearance in the postseason. Seniors Julie Lazer, Rachel Martinez, and Krista Filiopoulos all received All-CC honors. With another year of experience under their belt, this consistent Washington College team could make some big moves this season.
