Women’s Field Athlete of the Week 4/30/18

Maya Hammonds, Jr., Johns Hopkins

Hammonds set a new Johns Hopkins long jump record as she recorded a mark of 5.82m at the Paul Kaiser Classic to win the event. This mark is tied for 3rd in Division III and ranks first in the conference this season.

Mikaela Collins, Sr., Gettysburg

Collins earned a pair of top-two finishes to help the Bullets beat out 14 other teams to win Gettysburg's Mason-Dixon Invitational. She defeated 32 competitors in the shot put with a personal record of 41-2 1/4 (12.55m), which is also the top throw in the Centennial Conference this season. She also took second in a field of 26 in the discus with a heave of 114-9 (34.99m).

Alyssa Ward, Sr., Franklin & Marshall

Alyssa Ward finished second in the Triple Jump (11.63m), High Jump (1.60m), and Long Jump (5.35m) at the Osprey Open hosted by Stockton University this weekend. The senior's 11.63m distance in the Triple Jump currently ranks ninth across all Division III.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week 4/9/18

Alyssa Ward, Sr., Franklin & Marshall
State College, Pa. / State College

Alyssa Ward recorded a personal best in the high jump with a distance of 1.63m, which was good for first place at the Millersville Metrics. Her 1.63m jump ranks tied for 11th in NCAA DIII and 1st in the Centennial Conference so far this season.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week 4/2/18

Mikaela Collins, Sr., Gettysburg
Attleboro, Mass. / Bishop Feehan

Collins won both the shot put and discus at the Ursinus Invitational, helping the Bullets capture the team title. She registered an outdoor PR in the shot with a heave of 40-6, beating out 16 competitors. That mark is the top throw in the conference this season and ranks second in Gettysburg history. Collins defeated all 17 of her opponents in the discus with a toss of 115-3.

 
 

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week 3/26/18

Alyssa Ward, Sr., Franklin & Marshall
Teaneck, N.J. / Tabor Academy

Alyssa Ward took home three individual first-place finishes, for the high jump and 100m sprint, and an 11.77m distance in the triple jump, which currently ranks second in the nation across all Division III. The senior was also part of the first-place 4x100m Relay Team, took second in the long jump and third in the 200m sprint.
