SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College volleyball team shutdown
Muhlenberg College on Wednesday night from Tarble Pavilion,
capturing the Centennial Conference victory in straight sets over
the Mules. With the win, the Garnet continue to hold an
unblemished record at home and in the conference.
Swarthmore (20-5, 8-0 CC) had a balanced floor in the victory, with
junior Madison
Heppe and freshman Malia
Scott anchoring the defense on a combined 26 digs. Scott
finished with a double-double, adding 19 assists in the match.
Freshman Sarah
Wallace recorded 15 kills, while junior setter Sam
DuBois collected 18 assists and seven digs. Senior
Kate
Amodei earned three service aces and nine digs in the
effort. At the net, senior Chastity
Hopkins put down four blocks, while Scott and freshman
Alice
Liu each had two.
Muhlenberg (22-4, 6-2 CC) was led by Chelsea Kaser with 22 digs on
defense and Katherine Boll and Allison Glass each had nine swings
for the attack.
The Garnet host Lycoming College on Saturday, October 25 at 1:00
p.m. before finishing the conference regular season against Bryn
Mawr and Haverford.
