• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins volleyball team's season came to an end in the second round of the NCAA Tournament as the Blue Jays were swept by No. 23 Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
SET 1
• 
With the match tied at 12, the Polar Bears went on a 7-2 run to take a 19-14 advantage. A kill from Eleni Panagopoulosmade the score 19-16 Bowdoin, but the Polar Bears scored the next four points to take a 23-16 lead.
• JHU saved match point with two straight kills from Louisa Kishton to make the score 24-19, but a kill from Sydney Salle gave Bowdoin the 25-19 set one victory.

SET 2
 •
 The teams went back-and-forth in the second set before the Polar Bears built a three-point lead to make the score 13-10. Hopkins got two kills from Panagopoulos and a kill from Simone Bliss during a 3-1 run to get to within one at 14-13. 
• A 5-1 run from Bowdoin made the score 19-14, but Hopkins scored four of the next five points to make the score 20-18.
• The Polar Bears scored four of the next six points to get to set point, but Bliss extended the set with back-to-back kills to make the score 24-22 before a kill from Ashley Williams gave Bowdoin the set, 25-22.

SET 3
• 
A 4-0 run from Bowdoin gave the Polar Bears a 16-10 lead as the Polar Bears got their lead up to as many as six points in the set.
• Micaelle Larrieux tied the match at 22 with a kill and Bliss punctuated a 7-0 JHU run with a kill that gave Hopkins its first lead of the set at 23-22.
• The Polar Bears responded quickly, scoring the set's final three points to win the set 25-23 and advance to the Sweet 16 with a 3-0 match win.

What it Means
• This was the first meeting between the two teams.
• JHU is now 4-6 in the NCAA Tournament having made six appearances.
• Hopkins concludes the season with a 22-8 record.  This is the 16th straight winning season for the Blue Jays.

Inside the Box Score
• Bliss led Hopkins with 12 kills while Nicole Hada had a match-high 37 assists.
• Kishton finished with nine kills and a team-high 15 digs. Esther Hong also had 13 digs in the match.
