Caroline Smith, Johns Hopkins

The top-ranked women's cross country team in Division III - Johns Hopkins - goes for an unprecedented ninth consecutive Centennial Conference championship on Saturday at Haverford College. The Blue Jays (2008-15) and Dickinson (2000-07) have dominated the last 16 campaigns and are expected to battle for the championship trophy again in 2016.

Hopkins welcomes back a pair of first-team All-Centennial performers from a year ago in senior Tess Meehan (Havertown, PA / Havertown) and junior Caroline Smith (Simsbury, CT / Simsbury). Meehan won the individual title last season, while Smith came in fourth. Sophomores Tasha Freed (Frederick, MD / Gov. Thomas Johnson) and Felicia Koerner (Munich, Germany / Bavarian International School) finished 12th and 14th, respectively, to earn second-team All-Conference honors. Koerner was the Jays' top finisher (4) at Rowan to help Hop defeat #1 Geneseo and #2 MIT. Freed also received Conference Rookie of the Year honors last season.

The quartet will be joined by sophomores Natalia LaSpada (San Diego, CA / La Jolla CDS) and Ellie Clawson (Bellevue, WA / Issaquah), along with freshmen Rebecca Grusby (Newton Center, MA / Newton South) and Sam Levy (Fayetteville, NY).

Sofia Canning, Dickinson

Dickinson, ranked 11th nationally, is led by junior Sofia Canning (Portland, ME / Waynflete) who finished fifth last season, earning first-team All-CC recognition. She won individual honors at the annual Little Three championship in September. Freshman Tessa Cassidy (Brunswick, ME / Brunswick) is also a threat for All-Conference recognition.

Jamie Pacilio, Muhlenberg

Other first-teamers (finished in top seven) returning this weekend are Haverford junior Katie Sullivan (Rutherford, NJ / Rutherford) and Muhlenberg junior Jamie Pacilio (Mahwah, NJ / Mahwah) who placed sixth and seventh, respectively. Pacilio finished first in a field of 255 runners to capture the DeSales Invitational three weeks ago.

Swarthmore seniors Indy Reid-Shaw (Hillsborough, NC / Orange) and Tess Wei (Philadelphia, PA / Friends Central) look to move up from the second team in 2016. Wei was also the Conference's cross country Scholar-Athlete of the Year last fall.

Others to keep an eye on include Bryn Mawr junior Kate Edwards (Malvern, PA / Conestoga), Franklin & Marshall junior Grace Adams (Bronx, NY / American Studies at Lehman College), Gettysburg senior Amanda Asaro (Mount Kisco, NY / Fox Lane), McDaniel sophomore Carinna Powell (Chesapeake Beach, MD / Northern), and Ursinus sophomore Brittany Gasser (Fords, NJ / Middlesex Couty Academy).
