MEDIA, Pa. -  The Swarthmore College men's cross country team placed first overall and had seven individuals finish inside the top-10 at the Bryn Mawr Invitational. 

Atticus Hempel led the pack with a first place finish as he set a new 5k personal record. First-year Will Sheehy finished just behind Hempel for a second place finish, while Aiden Tomov and Harrison Kim followed to sweep the first four positions.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hempel picked up where he left off after an impressive rookie campaign. The sophomore finished as the individual winner with a time of 16:23.0 at a 5:16.4 mile pace. Hempel took over a minute off his previous Rose Tree Park personal record.

- Sheehy placed second in his collegiate cross country debut. The first-year finished just 0.1 seconds behind Hemple and ran side-by-side with his teammate the entire race. Sheehy crossed the finish line at 16:23.1.

- Tomov and Kim rounded out the top-four finishers as Swarthmore occupied the first four positions. Tomov placed third at 17:13.7, while Kim ran a 17:20.7. Both runners achieved course personal records. 

- Sam Brody, Ben Rosin and Colin DeLaney also placed inside the top-10. Brody led the pack with an eighth place effort at 18:12.8, while Rosin ran an 18:13.0 and DeLaney finished at 18:13.0. Rowan Orlijan-Rhyme also ran in the pack as he placed 11th at 18:13.0. The group ran at a 5:51.7 pace as each runner earned a personal record.
