Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Gann Scores for OT Win

Freshman Alexandra Gann scored a goal 58 seconds into the first overtime period to lift the Muhlenberg field hockey team to a 1-0 win over Centennial Conference opponent Dickinson.

Sophomore Sarah Raab drew a penalty corner 48 seconds into OT for the Mules (6-2, 2-2). Junior Rachel Richards (pictured above) inserted to Raab, who passed to sophomore Maleah Hess on her right. The rebound of Hess' blocked shot was passed by sophomore Megan Webber to Gann, who netted the game-winner.

The Devils (4-5, 1-2) outshot the Mules 10-6 and out-cornered them 8-3, but Muhlenberg was solid on defense, highlighted by junior Sophie Beeler's third defensive save of the season in the third minute of the third quarter. The defensive save was the 12th for Beeler, who moves up in the all-time Muhlenberg record list from eighth to seventh.

This was the eighth straight game between the Mules and the Devils that was decided by one goal, including last year's CC first-round playoff contest (also won 1-0 by Muhlenberg).

Senior Jordan Segrave had seven saves on the day and tallied her 14th career shutout.
