Women's Soccer Wins Sixth Straight to End Regular Season

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team closed out the regular season with a 3-0 shutout victory over Bryn Mawr on Thursday night, Oct. 28. Rhyan Socash netted the game-winner and the Blue & White defense did not surrender a single shot on goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED

It took some time to find the back of the net but once they did, the Lions (10-4-4) never looked back, as Penn State Harrisburg netted three markers in the second half to close out the regular season with an impressive shutout win over the Owls (2-13) on Thursday evening.

After a scoreless first half that saw the Blue & White narrowly miss out on the game's first goal, the home finally broke through in the 57th minute when Socash gathered a ball from Sydney Hemler in the box and fired her attempt past Bryn Mawr goalkeeper Emma Ryan from point-blank range.

The home team doubled the advantage with little more that 15 minutes remaining when Sydney Armstrong corralled a feed from Hannah Morrison, beating Ryan to the ball and finding twine while absorbing contact in the 74th minute.

The Lions added some insurance less than three minutes later when Kyla Brossoit finished off a cross from Kylee Altland to push the advantage to three and put the contest out of reach in the 76th minute.
