Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's Lax Clips Eagles, Stays Perfect In 2019

SWARTHMORE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Women's Lacrosse improved to 6-0 following a 17-5 rout at home of the visiting Eastern University Eagles. The win streak matches Swarthmore's hot start in 2014 when the Garnet also started off the year with a 6-0 pace.

This season, the Garnet have outscored their opponents by at least 10 goals each game and have a cumulative advantage of 90-26 this season.

Sophie Peipher led the Garnet with a hat trick, her fourth hat trick performance of the year. Five players posted a pair of goals: Tess Wild, Julia Ostrowski, Kyra Hall, Megan Jones and Kathryn Restrepo all recorded the brace. Restrepo's second goal gave her 100 for her career.

Elizabeth Wainwright, Eleanor Miller and Mackenzie Frost all scored a goal as well.

Swarthmore opened the game with the first nine goals in just 16 minutes and never looked back. The Garnet activated the 10-goal rule with 7:11 left in the first half off an Ostrowski goal. Swarthmore took an 11-2 lead into halftime.

In the second half, the Garnet outscored the Eagles 6-3. Peipher wrapped up her hat trick with 24:28 to go in the game.

Miller led Swarthmore with four draw controls collected and fellow freshman Ashley Pyon added three. Wild and Ostrowski both had two.

Madison Kline recorded two saves in goal in 36 minutes of action for Swarthmore.

The Garnet look to make it 7-0 when they play at Moravian College on Wednesday.
