Reyes Now Two-for-Two
Eight days ago, junior
Dominick Reyes (165) had never won a regular season tournament for the Blue Jays; now, he's won two. After claiming the title at the season-opening Messiah Invitational last week, Reyes used three wins today to improve to 6-0 on the year and claim the 165-pound title.
Â
After a round-of-16 bye, Reyes scored a 16-0 technical fall victory over West Chester's Anthony Colasurdo in the quarterfinals and then needed just 2:24 to pin WPI's Julian Robles in the semifinals. In the championship bout, he drew WPI's Tyler Marsh. Reyes picked up a 12-8 victory in the final to secure his second title in a week.

Wertheimer Places Third at 184
Senior
Nathan Wertheimer dropped his first match of the day to Kyle Schaffer of Ursinus (8-1), then worked all the way back through the consolation bracket to earn an impressive third-place finish with a 4-1 record on the day.
Â
Wertheimer pinned Liberty's Ethan Martin (1:46) and edged WPI's Adam Marsh, 5-2, to move into the consolation semifinals. There, he met up with Schaffer again and avenged his earlier loss with an 8-3 decision to move into the third-place match, where he held off Ethan Stern of the Naval Academy Prep School, 2-1, to finish third.

Lorin, Paul Add Fourth-Place Finishes
Freshman
Brent Lorin (125) and sophomore
Joe Paul (174) both placed fourth to round out the Johns Hopkins place-winners on the day.
Lorin made his collegiate debut after missing the season-opening Messiah Invitational and went 2-2 on the day. Both of his wins came by fall with third period pins against Colton Messick of Apprentice (6:22) in his first career match and a consolation semifinal pin of Dillon Messiah of Apprentice (5:53).
Â
Paul needed six matches to place fourth as he dropped his first and last match of the day, but scored four straight wins in the consolation bracket. Three of his wins came by decision and one, an 11-2 victory over Michael Schneider, came by major decision.
