Devils End Month Long Break by Competing at Moravian

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - For the first time in over a month the Dickinson women's track and field team was back in action on Saturday afternoon as the Red and White took part in the Moravian University Invitational. 

Sprints
In the 60m hurdles Darya Mikusova posted a 9.73 to finish sixth in the finals. Sophia Kovatsis (9.87) and Naomi Alperin (10.44) also competed in the event, but did not qualify for the final.

First-year Erin Olsavsky earned the final spot in the Top-10 of the 200m with a time of 27.89. Abbe Kitchin finished in 13th thanks to crossing the line in 28.26, while Maddie Brown posted a 28.45 for 16th.

Emerlee Simons fell just outside the Top-5 during the 400m as she took sixth with a 1:02.32. Evelyn Swayze and Elizabeth Lieb were also inside the Top-30 in 28th (1:08.33) and 29th (1:08.43) respectively. 

Distance
Maddie Garber secured a Top-5 result in the 5000m as her time of 18:41.11 was good for fifth, followed in sixth by Myra Naqvi at 19:12.31.

Charlotte Kratovil-Lavelle was the lone DC athlete in the mile run clocking in at 5:39.51 to take 12th. She then was the highest finishing Devil during the 800m with a time of 2:37.44 (16th). Joining her in the race were Izzy Clarke (2:47.06) and Leah Bell (3:04.19).

Relays 
In the 4x400m the unit of Brown, Kitchin, Penuela and Simons came in second thanks to a 4:19.69.

Field
In the shot put Sarayne Forbes put up a mark of 10.56m which was good for sixth, while Claire Shearer and Abby Everett posted throws of 9.53m (16th) and 9.01m (21st).

A trio of Devils competed in the weight throw with Everett finishing in 16th (12.00m) barely edging out teammate Jenna Deep with her 11.94m. Shearer fell inside the Top-30 at 27th thanks to an 11.14m toss.

Lily Swain took part in the pole vault and finished in 15th after clearing a height of 2.74m. 

Sara Penuela earned a podium spot during the long jump taking third with a 5.21m. Lieb fell just outside the Top-5 in sixth thanks to a 5.07m. Mariana Penuela (4.81m) and Maddie Gidman (4.50m) also competed in the event.

Morgan Mooradian was the lone DC athlete in the high jump finishing in 12th with a 1.38m leap.

Dickinson returns to action next Saturday, January 28th at 10am for the DuCharme Invitational at the Kline Center.
