RADNOR, Pa. - Marking their return to competitive action for the first time since the 2019 Centennial Conference tournament, the Haverford College Men's Soccer team was edged in a 2-1 heartbreaker at Cabrini's Edith Robb Dixon Field. The Fords (0-1) opened up the scoring in the 15th minute, but Cabrini (1-0) equalized in the 77th and went ahead in the 84th to snatch the victory.

Haverford went ahead on its first shot of the 2021 season, as Ben Ward found Alex Millones in the box, setting the table for the sophomore to fire home his first career goal. The Fords controlled the first half in methodical fashion, with Michael Lyons nearly doubling the Haverford advantage before halftime with a shot off the post in the 45th minute.

In the second half, it was again Millones who rocketed a chance in the 54th, and Noah Schwab saw his shot cleared off the line by a Cabrini defender in the 58th. Schwab again found his target in the 63rd minute, but MJ Graham corralled the attempt for a Cavaliers save.

Despite the lead, the Haverford pressure continued offensively into the waning moments of the game, with Meinhardt Rentrup connecting on a shot just ahead of the Cabrini equalizer on the other end. Dakota Bauer slotted one home for the hosts in the 77th minute, and after a Paul-Andre Coulibaly chance in the 81st minute, Nick LoBiondo found the back of the net to give Cabrini the lead.

Millones had three total shots to go with his opening goal, while Schwab added a pair on target. LoBiondo notched a game-best four total shots including two on frame. Dylan Ioffreda made five saves in his 90 minutes of action between the pipes. Cabrini outpaced Haverford in shots 12-9 and in corners, 7-5.

The Fords will return to action on Saturday, making the trip to Lycoming for a 1 p.m. kickoff. The contest will be just the second in program history between the two sides, and the first trip to Williamsport for the Fords.
