Men's Tennis Honors Seniors, Dispatches Dickinson 8-1

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford's College men's tennis team ended the regular season on a high note on Saturday, with an 8-1 win over Dickinson College at home on the Bramall and Marshall Courts. The contest was especially significant as it was the team's Senior Day, and a brief ceremony was held before the match to honor seniors Jason Edmonds and Abhinav Nallapareddy. The victory improved Haverford's overall record to 10-7 and their conference record to 5-3. Dickinson fell to 4-12 overall (1-7 CC).

Despite a loss in the first doubles match, Haverford bounced back with victories in the next two doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead. Stefan Johnson and James McKenzie won a hard-fought battle against Dickinson's Garrick Adams and Will Lewis, while Adam Chow and Justin Minerva also secured a victory in the second doubles pairing.

In the singles matches, Haverford dominated, winning at all six flights. Aiden Kim had a comfortable 6-1, 6-2 victory over Dickinson's Levi Veleanu, while Jason Edmonds continued his strong senior season with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Florian Anderson. Stefan Johnson, Max Beckwith, Andreas Wingert, and Abhinav Nallapareddy also won their matches, with Nallapareddy's victory in the final match of the day putting a bow on the 8-1 win for Haverford.

For seniors Edmonds and Nallapareddy, the win was a fitting end to their home regular season careers. Overall, it was a great day for Haverford's men's tennis team, as the Fords ended the home regular season on a high note and celebrated the contributions of their senior captains.

With the postseason now on the horizon, the team will look to build on this strong performance and compete for a Centennial Conference Championship. Prior to the postseason opening, Haverford will have one more contest slated, taking on Mary Washington in non-conference action on Sunday, April 23. The first serve at the neutral site of Goucher College in Baltimore, is slated for 1 p.m.

The postseason journey will begin on Tuesday, April 25 as the Fords take on Franklin & Marshall in first-round action at home. Time of the match is still to be determined. The Fords won at F&M earlier this month, taking a 7-2 over the Diplomats last weekend.
