Michelle Santangelo goal in the first half proved to be more than enough as the Blue Jays remained perfect in Centennial Conference play with a 1-0 win over McDaniel on Wednesday afternoon.
How it Happened
•
Maggie Coulson almost put the Blue Jays up 1-0 in the 19
th minute on a free kick but McDaniel keeper Katherine Carstensen made a diving save to tip the ball away and keep the contest scoreless.
• JHU broke the scoreless tie at 26:22 when
Mizuho Obayashi sent a pass to
Michelle Santangelo who put the shot past Carstensen for the 1-0 lead.

Rachel Jackson put a point-blank shot on Carstensen early in the second half but the freshman's shot was saved to keep McDaniel within one.
• Lindsey Farrell had a great opportunity to tie the match in the 65
th minute, however, her shot sailed wide of the cage.
• McDaniel had another great opportunity to get even in the 83
rd minute on a Maddie Schwartz free kick, but once again the shot went wide of the net and Hopkins held on for the 1-0 win.
What it Means
• The Blue Jays hold a 25-5-1 all-time record against the Green Terror and are unbeaten in the last four matches.
• JHU has recorded a shutout in five straight games and the program record is nine consecutive shutouts.
• Hopkins has won its last 17 Centennial Conference regular season matches with the last loss coming on October 2, 2016 at McDaniel (3-2).
