Tomkins, Thompson Earn First-Place Finishes at Stevenson

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Women's swimming took first in multiple races and battled Stevenson and St. Mary's (Md.) in a hard-fought meet on Saturday at the McDonogh School.

Sophomore Amanda Thompson got McDaniel off to a hot start with a first-place finish in 1000 freestyle (11:32.19). She added a pair of second-place finishes in the 100 freestyle (57.11) and 400 IM (5:11.16). Thompson was also part of the 200 freestyle that took first (1:45.57). 

Senior Ella Tomkins took home first in the 100 butterfly (1:00.82) and the 200 butterfly (2:18.10). She was also part of the 200 freestyle relay team that took first-place with a time of 1:45.57. Freshman Mackenzie Skelton also brought home a first-place finish for the Green Terror with a win in the 500 freestyle (6:02.81). She added a fifth-place finish in the 1000 freestyle (12:38.59) and was part of the 400 Medley relay team that placed third. 

Ashley Farrington recorded a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 200 freestyle (2:18.48) and 500 freestyle (6:08.91). She was also part of the 400 medley relay team that took home third place. Emma Lindell took home fifth in the 200 freestyle (2:19.57) and 100 butterfly (1:11.98). She added a third-place finish in the 400 medley relay.

Junior Abby Cook placed third in multiple events including the 200 backstroke (2:32.06), 50 freestyle (26.36), and the 200 backstroke (2:32.06). She also was part of the first-place 200 freestyle relay team (1:45.57). 

McDaniel returns to action on Saturday at Washington College. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
