No. 14 Men's Hoops Scores 100 In Road Win

CARLISLE, Pa.—No. 14 Swarthmore College Men's Basketball knocked down the Dickinson College Red Devils on Saturday by a score of 100-82, reaching the century mark for the first time this year. Swarthmore (20-3 overall, 13-3 Centennial Conference) has won six consecutive games and handed Dickinson (9-14, 7-9) its fifth straight loss.

The Garnet remain on top of the conference with two games to go and have a one-game lead over second-place Johns Hopkins University.

There was never any doubt in Saturday's chippy contest that this game belonged to Swarthmore. The Garnet never trailed, and after shooting 50 percent in the first half, led by 17 points at halftime.

Senior Cam Wiley and freshman George Visconti exploded for season highs with Wiley notching a game-high 26 points and Visconti scoring 25. Wiley went 8-for-17 from the floor and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. Visconti scored all of his field goals from beyond the arc, sinking 6-of-9 3-point attempts. He also went 7-of-8 from the free-throw line.

Swarthmore tied its season high from beyond the arc by hitting 14 triples. Swarthmore also attempted 31 free throws (one fewer than its season high) and sank 24 of them.

Conor Harkins, who hit three treys, finished with 14 points, and Zac O'Dell added 12 points in 18 minutes.

Nate Shafer kept Swarthmore's basket safe by blocking five shots.

For Dickinson, Bryce Allen and Mike Hinkley paced the team with 23 and 20 points, respectively.

Swarthmore pulled away in the middle of the first half, triggering a 14-0 run capped off with a 3-pointer by Abass Sallah with 7:38 remaining that put Swarthmore up 30-11.

In the second half, Dickinson never got any closer than 10 points.

The Garnet are back in action on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Haverford College.
