GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Ursinus College won a pair of doubles matches and four singles bouts to clinch a 6-3 win over Gettysburg College in a Centennial Conference men's tennis match Saturday.
In its first action of the spring, Gettysburg (2-1, 0-1 CC) scored a win at second doubles as freshman
Tommy Gilio (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) and junior
Kevin Maier (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton) teamed up for an 8-4 win.
Ursinus (7-4, 1-2 CC) swept four of the six singles matches in straight-sets. Junior
Nick D'Amore (Scotch Plains, N.J./Wardlaw-Hartridge) earned a shortened win at No. 2 as his opponent, Mason Groff, was forced to retire with an injury. Junior
Andrew Corwin (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) posted the team's remaining victory with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) win over Jake Lachowicz at sixth singles.
Gettysburg visits Juniata College for a non-conference match on Wednesday, April 4, at 4 p.m.
