LEHIGH, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Cross Country finished in second at the Paul Short College Invitational 8K White Meet on Saturday morning. The Garnet scored 121 points, trailing top-finisher Ramapo by 16 points and coming in six points ahead of third-place Coast Guard.
Vaughn Parts finished seventh overall with a time of 26:33 to pace the Garnet.
Kevin Hudson and
Brendan Penfold finished in the top 20 with sub-27 minute times in the 8K. Hudson came in 17th place (26:51) and Penfold took 19th place with a time of 26:54.
Junior
Lucas Heinzerling crossed the finish line in 27:07 for Swarthmore's fourth score. Freshman
Jonah Ring took the fifth spot for the Garnet with a time of 27:53.
Swarthmore's sixth and seventh runners,
Evan Baker and
John Duarte came in at 28:19.
Swarthmore is back in action on Oct. 13 at the Rowan Border Battle.
