How It Happened…
  • First Half: The Bullets attacked early as senior Isabel Klatt (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) and fellow classmate Charlotte Cenatiempo (Weston, Conn./Weston) both took back-to-back attempts on goal, but Carstensen denied both. Gettysburg accumulated its first goal of the night 36 minutes in as Muskus dished a pass from about five yards outside the box to Slevin on the right side as she drilled the ball into the upper right side of the net. Less than a minute later, Perz was at the right place at the right time as a McDaniel defender tapped the ball into the air and found its way to her feet, she one-touched it as it bounced off the left post into the back of the net to extend the Orange and Blue lead. Schwartz looked to cut the deficit in half with under five to go as she took a shot on goal, but Cunningham stopped the shot. The two teams combined for a total of eight shots in the period.
  • Second Half: Gettysburg looked to push its lead as Muskus booted a shot on goal five minutes in, but Carstensen made a great leaping save for McDaniel. The Green Terror put a tally on the scoreboard with 54:11 on the clock as Schwartz made the penalty kick to cut the lead down to one. The Bullets stingy defense kept the Green Terror at bay, as they did not allow a shot in the final 23 minutes to secure the victory.
 By the Numbers
  • Gettysburg and McDaniel each finished with eight shots and two corner kicks.
  • Perz corralled her first career goal, while Slevin accumulated her third.
  • With her assist tonight, Muskus has pushed her season total to 29 points, which now ranks her eighth in the program history for points in a season. When the sophomore has notched a point this season, the Bullets have gone 12-0.
Centennial Conference Playoffs
  • The fourth-seeded Bullets will now face top-seeded and 11th-ranked Dickinson College in the tournament semifinals on Saturday at noon in Carlisle, Pa. The winner moves on to Sunday's championship match to face the winner of the other semifinal between second-seeded and 10th-ranked Johns Hopkins University and third-seeded Haverford College.
  • The Bullets advance to the semifinals for the first time since 2016.
Where the Series Stands Now
Gettysburg now holds a 28-6-1 lead over McDaniel in the all-time series that started in 1988. When Gettysburg and McDaniel met in the conference openers in 2016 and 2017, the Green Terror won both in Westminster, Md. by the finals scores of 3-1 and 1-0 (OT), respectively. The last four meetings between Gettysburg and McDaniel have been decided by one goal.
