Sam Sheldon (Tully, N.Y./Tully) earned all-region honors with a 35th place showing to lead the Gettysburg College men's cross country team on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional, hosted by Muhlenberg College.

The Finish Line
- Today's 16th place finish by the Bullets was the highest showing at the regional meet since 2010, when the team placed 12th.
- Sheldon helped the Bullets place 16th out of 51 teams as he blazed through the 8,000-meter course in 25:50.3, with a mile pace of 5:03.1, to post 35th out of a field of over 355. With his top-35 finish, Sheldon garnered all-region honors, the first of his career.
- Gettysburg's next finisher was McKeever, who placed 45th in 26:03.3 while freshman Connor Elliott '23 (Media, Pa./Salesianum) claimed 104th in 26:58.4.
- Freshman Joseph Potz (Crestline, Calif./Rim of the World) and senior Aren Heitmann (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) rounded out the team scoring. Potz came in 132nd in 27:13.3 and Heitmann came in 154th in 27:33.3.
- Finishing as displacers were sophomore William Hopkins (Raleigh, N.C./Needham B. Broughton), who placed 170th in 27:52.1, and junior Luke Matzke (Collegeville, Pa./Malvern Prep), who placed 215th in 28:39.7.
