POTTSTOWN, PA. – The Ursinus College women's golf team earned a second-place finish at the Ursinus Fall Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bears had four members compete at the Raven's Claw Golf Club, a par-72 course that stretches over 5,357 yards. Ursinus landed on a team tally of 439 (+155), as Bloomsburg University won the Invitational finishing 51-over with a team score of 335. Stockton (443) finished in third place while East Stroudsburg, Muhlenberg, New Jersey City, and Swarthmore rounded out the seven-team field. Bloomsburg's Gia Pelzer won the Invitational after firing an impressive six-over 77 through her round.
Sophomore
Kaylin Chen led the Bears with a 7th-place finish closing out her round with a final score of an 89 (+18). The Tustin, California native had an impressive afternoon finishing with birdies on the par-4 ninth and par-4 18
th holes. On hole eighteen after an impressive drive, Chen's second shot took place just short of the green. A chip up onto the green left a manageable putt as she closed out her back nine with a 10-over 45.
Junior
Rebecca Chernoff earned a 16
th place finish after tallying a season-low 107 (+36) while sophomore
Elliot Schott finished just behind with an 18
th place finish (111). Chernoff capitalized on the par-5 first hole scoring a par, while Schott earned a par on the par-3 17
th hole. Junior
Bailey Hann earned a 19
th place finish after tallying a 132.
The Bears will return to action on Monday, October 10
th as they travel to Allentown, Pennsylvania for the Muhlenberg Fall Invitational.
