Women's Track and Field Competes at Coach I Open

LANCASTER, Pa. – Swarthmore College Women's Track and Field returned to action against some familiar opponents on Saturday at the Coach I Open at Franklin & Marshall College.
 
The meet was comprised of several Division III programs, including Centennial foes F&M, Dickinson, Muhlenberg and Gettysburg.
 
Krystle Boadi won the 200-meter dash with a day best time of 27.10.
 
In the mile, Nora Blodgett crossed a fourth best time of 5:24.42. Phoebe Whiteside and Emma Novak followed with times of 5:27.08 and 5:27.10, respectively.
 
Rose Teszler earned a sixth-place finish in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:56.66. Tillie Ferguson added a time of 12:15.96 in the event.
 
Sierra Sweeney earned an 11th place finish in the 800-meter run. The junior crossed with a time of 2:31.26, while Clare D'Amato finished with a time of 2:31.91. Pauline McMurry added a time of 2:35.76.
 
In the 60-meter hurdles, Lily Fournier crossed the finish line with a time of 11.02, while Laila Kirton crossed in 11.35.
 
Mirayda Martinez earned time of 1:05.79 in the 400-meter run.
 
In the field events, the Garnet saw some success in the shot put. Clay Conley finished in second place, while Adria Retter added a fourth-place mark. Conley tossed a best throw of 12.86 meters (42'-2.25"), while Retter finished with a mark of 12.20 meters (40'-0.50").
 
Conley added a fifth-place finish with a best mark of 15.29 meters (50'-2") in the weight throw.  Abigail Posta finished the event in 23rd place, but the senior earned a top finish in the first flight. Posta recorded a best throw of 11.62 meters (38'-1.5").
 
Emma Chiao recorded a best mark of 4.65 meters (15'-3.25") for a 16th place finish in the long jump. Maya Zimmerman added a jump of 4.43 meters (14'-6.50").
 
Chiao added a mark of 10.65 meters (34'-11.25") for a sixth-place finish in the triple jump. Fournier added a jump of 8.91 meters (29'-2.75").
 
Swarthmore will be back in action on Saturday as they compete in the Villanova Invite. The meet, slated to begin at 4:00 p.m. will take place at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.
