Sophomore
Sarah Raab scored on a penalty corner after the fourth-quarter buzzer sounded to give the Muhlenberg field hockey team a 1-0 win over Haverford.
Â
Raab's goal, her first of the season, came from the top of the circle directly off the insertion from junior
Morgan Tietz. The Mules (5-1, 1-2) were awarded the penalty corner before the horn sounded, allowing them the untimed opportunity.
Â
Muhlenberg turned the pressure on late while looking to prevent overtime by taking three shots and four penalty corners over the final 6:16. Defensively, Muhlenberg held the hosts without a shot for the final 9:42.
Â
The Mules held a 7-1 advantage in shots on goal over the Fords (6-1, 0-1), who received votes in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association national poll, and 13-2 margin in penalty corners.
