The Muhlenberg women's soccer team remained undefeated at home with a 1-1 tie against regionally ranked Gettysburg.
With one home game remaining, the Mules (7-4-2, 2-3-2), who have never finished a season without a home loss, are 5-0-2 at Varsity Field. And both of the ties came against ranked teams.
The Bullets (9-2-1, 4-2-1) came in as one of the toughest teams in Division III to score on, allowing only five goals in their first 11 games. Muhlenberg needed only 12:39 to put one on the board, however, with senior
Alyssa Rose (pictured above) heading in a free kick from junior
Hannah Merlo for her second goal in as many games.Â
The 1-0 advantage stood up through halftime thanks to senior
Libby Juliano, who dove to her right to save a penalty kick in the 43rd minute.
Gettysburg put tremendous pressure on the Mules at the start of the second half. Senior
Madison Ingling kept the Bullets off the board with a defensive save in the 62nd minute, but they eventually found the equalizer.
Juliano made one save in each overtime period and finished with 12 stops, two short of the season high she established in Muhlenberg's scoreless draw against nationally ranked Dickinson.
