Cantine Places First Individually, Four Men Finish Top-10 at DeSales Invitational

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's cross country team previewed the NCAA Regional course as they finished first overall as a team at the DeSales Invitational on Saturday morning.

Aidan Cantine finished first overall individually as Will Sheehy and Atticus Hempel joined the senior at the front of the pack with top-five finishes. Aiden Tomov also ran a strong race as he earned a top-10 finish for the Garnet.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Hempel finished behind the first-year in the fourth position with a 25:43.2 effort. The sophomore set a new 8k personal record as Hempel improved his previous best by three seconds.

- Tomov earned a top-10 finish as he placed ninth overall to finish fourth on the team. The senior crossed the finish line at 26:21.6.
