Phillips Sets Another School Record at Patriot Games

Women
  • Lauren Phillips continued her run of record setting weekends at the Patriot Games in the 500-meter run on Saturday. She finished with a time of 1:17.17 to set a new school record in the event and finished first among the field. Lorna Arcese also ran in the event and set a new freshman record with a time of 1:18.06 which also qualifies for top three all-time in program history.
  • Victoria Kadiri impressed in the long jump with a performance that currently ranks her first in the country. She had a mark of 5.89 meters to reach the best in the nation.
  • Isis Diaz, Mackenzie Setton and Sara Stephenson all placed in the top five in the mile run. Diaz came in first with a time of 5:04.23, which is a PR for her. Setton finished right behind Diaz with her PR of 5:04.68 and Stephenson came in fourth running a 5:04.94.
  • Setton also had a top five finish and a PR time of 2:20.47 in the 800. Coming in behing her was Lily Sheth, who ran a 2:21.08.
  • JHU placed first in the 4x400-meter relay with a team time 3:58.21. Phillips was the anchor alongside Kathleen Saussy, Grace Massillon and Arcese. 
Men
  • Two Blue Jays earned times in the 3000-meter run that put them in the top three all-time in program history. Daniel Chen came in first in the competition and ran 8:19.13 for the second-best time in team history. Bryce Thalheimer placed fourth with a time of 8:22.84 for the third-best in program history.
  • Joshua Lee set a new freshman record in the 500, coming in second among the field with a time of 1:07.26, which was also top three all-time. Kevin Sommer and Michael Kruppa also came in the top five under 1:11.00.
  • Samson Desalines ran the best 800 time on the team so far this season with a time of 1:58.06. It was his first time competing in the event.

  • The Blue Jays return to action next weekend in New York, NY at the Division III Invitational.
