CARLISLE, Pa. - Taking to the pool for the first time in 2023, the Swarthmore women's swimming team took down Centennial rival Dickinson College by a score of 206-52 on Saturday, Jan. 21st.
The Garnet crushed the Red Devils, finishing first in all 14 events. First year

Ashley Wong, and sophomore
Sophie Rotival led the way for Swarthmore, with each of them finishing with two individual wins.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Starting off the meet strong, the Garnet went 1-2 in the 200 yard medley relay, with the quartet of Wong, Rotival, senior
Gaby Ma and sophomore
Annaliese Chen putting up a time of 1:49.63.
- Hallmark captured the Garnet's first individual event win in the 1000 yard freestyle, tallying a time of 10:36.68, nearly 30 seconds faster than second place.
- Sophomore Georgi Matthews took home a win in the 200 yard freestyle, finishing just 0.09 seconds ahead of teammate sophomore
Lauren Rohde at 2:00.28.
- Wong seized her first individual event win in the 100 yard backstroke, leading a 1-2-3 Garnet sweep with her time of 59.81.
- Rotival followed up Wong's sweep with a 1-2-3 Garnet finish of her own, finishing first ahead of her teammates at 1:07.38 in the 100 yard breaststroke.
- Chen followed up success in the relay with an individual crown in the 200 yard butterfly, posting a time of 2:09.50.
- Ma beat out her competition by just 0.16 seconds in the 50 yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 25.49.

Quinn Weygandt picked up her first event win of the year, taking home the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 55.49.
- Sophomore
Mackenzie Tucker lead a third 1-2-3 Garnet sweep in the 200 yard backstroke, putting up a winning time of 2:14.10.
- Rotival one upped her own sweep on the 100 breast with a 1-2-3-4 sweep of the 200 yard breaststroke, leading the pack with a time of 2:29.11.
- Rohde captured a win for the Garnet in the 500 yard freestyle, putting up a time of 5:20.97.
- Wong seized her second of two events wins on the day in the 100 butterfly, coming in at 58.92.
- Hallmark finished off the individual events strong for the Garnet, winning the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:12.94.
- The Garnet closed out Dickinson with a bang, with the squad of Rotival, junior
Sarah Conley, first year Jane Tambling and junior
Cara Lee posting a first-place time of 1:41.99 in the 200 yard freestyle relay.
