SHAWNEE ON DELAWARE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Golf shot a 598 over two rounds at the Montgomery Cup to finish in sixth place out of 12 teams. The Garnet posted a 301 on Saturday and improved slightly on Sunday with a 297 on the 6,805-yard par-72 course..
Dan Altieri had the team's best finish with a 145 (+1) and finished 14th overall. He went for a 74 in round one and then finished one-under par with a 71 on day two.
Sophomore Ankur Malik was also one-under in round two but had a 76 in round one to finish tied for 18th overall with a 147. Classmate Michael Brown shot a 74 followed by a 75 for a 149 and a tie for 24th overall.
Nick DiMaio shot a 157 on the weekend for Swarthmore's final score, and Vamsi Damerla posted a 163.
Swarthmore has a squad in action Monday at Ravens Claw Golf Club.
