COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Women's Track & Field team kicked off its 2022-23 Indoor season by hosting the Bow Tie Invitational at the Floy Lewis Bakes Center on Friday night.
With team points being awarded in the meet this season, the Bears finished fourth a 11-team field in the standings with 73 points.
Senior
Isabelle Deal paced the Bears in both throwing events with finishes of second and fifth in the weight throw. Deal recorded marks of and 40-3.75 ft. in the shot put and a career best throw of 42-11 ft. in the weight throw. Senior
Hannah Bierling tied for sixth in the shot put with her mark of 33-6.75 while classmate
Jacqueline Allen posted a pair of ninth place finish in the two throwing events with her marks of 33-0 ft. in the shot put and 37-1 ft.
First-year
Mary Weiss had a strong showing in her first collegiate race by finishing second in the 400 meter dash with her time of 1:03.25. Sophomore
Tehya Harvey placed third in the 60-meter dash with her career best time of 8.17.
A pair of first-years impressed in the high jump for the Bears as
Amanda Traska finished third on her mark of 4-11 ft. while
Eden Merritt tied for sixth with her jump of 4-7 ft. First-year
Juniper Bauroth-Sherman led a pair of Bears in the pole vault with her mark of 9-0.25 ft. to finish third. Bauroth-Sherman also earned a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles on her time of 10.62.
In distance, sophomore
Brooke Adams finished third in the 800 meter dash with her time of 2:28.71 while first-year
Kaelin Ryan placed seventh on her time of 2:38.81.
The 4x400 relay Ursinus "A" team of Weiss, Harvey, senior
Holly Chambers, and sophomore
Meghan Carroll finished fourth with a time of 4:21.54
Ursinus a month off before returning to action on Saturday, January 21st to host the Collegeville Classic at 9:00 a.m.
