WESTMINSTER, Md.—It took scoring 14 extra points to settle the fourth set of Saturday afternoon's Centennial Conference volleyball match between the Swarthmore College Garnet and the McDaniel College Green Terror. Swarthmore out-lasted the Green Terror and took the match 25-22, 20-25, 25-22, 39-37.

Swarthmore trailed 23-21 in the fourth set after allowing four-straight points to McDaniel. McDaniel sat on set point at 24-23, but Swarthmore then fought off set point seven times in a wild back-and-forth finale to the match. Swarthmore regained the advantage and had set point on four occasions before finally finishing off the match. With the score tied 37-37, Swarthmore prevented McDaniel from getting good swings off and forced the Green Terror into two attack errors to end the match.

Freshman Alexa Bartlett rained down a team-high 11 kills while hitting .417 and partnering in six block assists. Fellow first year Sierra Tyson posted 10 kills, 22 assists and 18 digs.

Senior Mehra den Braven added nine kills and a team-high 20 digs. Middle blocker Isabelle Andrews participated in eight blocks.

The Garnet improved to 9-5 and 2-1 in Centennial play. Swarthmore hosts Franklin & Marshall College and Stockton University on Saturday as part of Garnet Weekend.
