SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Swarthmore College Men's Swimming kicked off the championship season as they held its traditional Swarthmore Inivitational at Ware Pool this weekend. The two-day event saw a top-ten program time and a handful of lifetime bests.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- Day one saw
Vijay Chhabra swim a time of 46.61 in the 100-free, which ranks the sophomore seventh on the all-time list. In the same event,
John Grey Crosby swam a collegiate best time of 48.37, and
Jonathan Odim added a lifetime best of 49.64.
Riley McLaughlin touched the wall in a season best time of 51.98.
- In the 100-fly, Steven Gooden touched the wall with a lifetime best time of 51.68. Crosby added a time of 55.45, while Odim swam a lifetime mark of 55.45.
- On Saturday, Chhabra returned to swim a personal best time of 58.74 in the 100-breast.
- Jack Spector swam a time of 1:57.88 in the 200-back.
- This weekend's meet was the final collegiate swim meet for McLaughlin, who finished the 100-fly in 57.26. Head coach
Karin Colby and the rest of the swimming programs were grateful to have this opportunity to showcase his commitment and leadership to the program over the last few years.
UP NEXT
The Garnet will compete at the Centennial Conference Championships held at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa. The conference meet will take place beginning on Thursday,February 17th with the conclusion of a team champion being crowned on Sunday, February 20th.
