YORK, Pa. – Senior
Samantha Boardman (Greenwich, Conn./Brooks School) improved to 6-0 with a pair of wins at York (Pa.) College, but the host Spartans held on for a 5-4 win over the visiting Bullets in the final match of the fall campaign.

York jumped out with wins at third and second doubles, but Boardman and freshman
Alex Rieg (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) prevented the sweep by forcing a tiebreaker and holding on for an 8-7 (7-5) victory at the top flight. The Gettysburg duo went 3-0 this fall.
Boardman and Rieg put the Bullets in front with early wins in singles action as the senior won 6-3, 6-3 and the first-year won 6-4, 7-6 (7-3). The Spartans rebounded with three consecutive wins, sealing the team decision with a straight-set win at No. 5. Sophomore
Alexis Rinker (Prince Frederick, Md./Calvert) closed the scoring by bouncing back from a 6-0 loss in the opening set against Hannah Shinsky to take the next two sets 6-4 and 10-6.
Where the Series Stands Now
The Spartans have won the last three matches against the Bullets, but Gettysburg leads the all-time series by a wide margin at 31-5.
