Race Highlights
Running on a beautiful evening in Timonium, MD,
Matthew Kleiman crossed the finish line first to lead the Johns Hopkins men to a successful season-opening meet. Kleiman crossed the finish line in 18:26.1 on the 6K course, holding off American's Russell Sullivan by over seven seconds. In their first cross country meets for the Blue Jays, sophomores
Gavin McElhennon (18:38.9) and
Sean Enright (19:04.1) placed third and fourth.
Josh Derrick and
Matt Sandifer finished out the scoring for JHU, placing sixth and seventh with respective times of 19:09.8 and 19:10.9.
Jonas Larson also placed in the top-10 for the Jays in the season opener.
