Coleman Wins Two Events at Coach I Invitational

LANCASTER, Pa. - The McDaniel College men's track & field team totaled eight event winners on Saturday at the Coach I Invitational hosted by Franklin & Marshall.

Sophomore Oral-Anthony Coleman led the way with two first-place finishes, posting a time of 7.19 seconds in the 60-meter dash and a mark of 23.23 seconds in the 200-meter dash.

Freshman Christian Homer came in first in the triple jump with a leap of 12.16m. He also finished second in the jump with a distance of 6.20m, a mark that is 10th in program history and qualifies him for the 2023 Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. He finished eighth in the 60-meter dash as well.

Reigning Centennial Conference Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, junior Chett Brunner, placed first in the shot put for the second-straight week with a mark of 14.30m while junior Tyren Proctor claimed first in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.61 seconds and junior John Geniti placed first in the pole vault with a mark of 3.95m.

Proctor also finished fourth in the 60-meter dash and fifth in the 200-meter dash.

The 4x200-meter team of Coleman, Proctor, junior Alex Huffer and senior Nick Razze crossed the line first with a time of 1:33.61 which is the seventh-fastest in program history.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Huffer, Razze, freshman Jack Reiser and sophomore Jeremiah Maxwell finished first with a time of 3:32.35.

Individually, Razze finished third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.42 seconds, ranking him 10th all-time in program history, while Maxwell finished third in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.36 seconds and fourth in the 200 with a time of 23.93 seconds to qualify for the conference meet in both events.

Reiser finished sixth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:05.23 to qualify for the conference championships.

Sophomore Anders Madsen finished second in the 800 and Damontae Gifford was second in the high jump. Junior Kyle Hubbard posted three top-10 finishes, placing second in the 60-meter hurdles, third in the high jump and 10th in the 60-meter dash.

Senior Collin Wainwright finished fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 13.19m that is the second-best in program history.

Senior Anthony Razze, junior Tyler Richardson and junior Braden Fink finished sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 800 meters as each qualified for the 2023 Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.

McDaniel returns to Franklin & Marshall next Friday, Jan. 27 for the Mini Dip Invitational. Competition gets underway at 2 p.m.
