HAVERFORD, Pa. – A first place finish by
Sydney Covitz in the 800-meter run led the Swarthmore College Women's Track and Field team at the Seamus McElligott Invitational on Saturday.
Covitz crossed the finish line of the event with a time of 2:22.53, while
Rose Teszler finished right behind in 2:24.33.
Quinn Basewitz added a time of 2:28.85, while
Pauline McMurry crossed in 2:31.53.
Nora Blodgett earned a second place finish in the mile with a time of 5:18.98, while
Phoebe Whiteside crossed in 5:25.11.
Thandiwe McMillan recorded a time of 1:04.63 in the 400-meter run.
Hanna Gutow crossed the finish line of the 5,000-meter run with a time of 20:14.58.
In the 60-meter dash,
Krystle Boadi earned a second place finish with a time of 8.26 seconds.
Madison Snyder added a time of 8.73 seconds.
Synder finished with a best height of 2.60m (8'-6.25") in the pole vault.
Maya Zimmerman recorded a third place finish in the long jump with a best mark of 4.64m (15'-2.75"), while
Lily Fournier notched a mark of 4.37m (14'-4"). Zimmerman added a time of 10.64 in the hurdles, while Fournier crossed in 10.74 in the same event.
In the triple jump, Fournier earned a seventh place finish with a leap of 9.58m (31'-5.25").
Clay Conley and
Adria Retter finished the shot put event in first and second place, respectively. Conley recorded a best throw of 13.59m (44'-7"), while Retter added a toss of 12.75m (41'-10").
Swarthmore will return to Haverford College on February 22nd, as the Garnet compete in the Keogh Invitational.
