GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to No. 32 Swarthmore College in a Centennial Conference match Saturday.
 
Gettysburg (5-5, 0-1 CC) battled Swarthmore (6-9, 3-0 CC) in doubles play with senior Kevin Maier (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton) and sophomore Tommy Gilio (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) nearly pulling off a victory at the second flight. The duo came up just short in the decision with an 8-6 loss to Weiyi Zhu and Max Gruber at the second position. Scores for the remaining doubles contests were 8-3 at No. 1 and 8-4 at No. 3.
 
The Garnet won all six singles matches in straight-sets. Junior Mike Mills (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision to Zhu at No. 2, while Gilio took five games in a loss (6-3, 6-2) to William Teoh at the fourth flight.
 
Gettysburg hosts No. 25 Johns Hopkins University Tuesday at 4 p.m.
