SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Nov. 19, 2022) – Two Mariners placed as the USMMA wrestling team earned 50 points and finished 11th out of 14 squads at the Doug Parker Invitational hosted by Springfield College.

Sophomore Reid Garrison (Broadway, Va.) finished 3-1 with two pins en route to placing third in the 285-pound weight class. Garrison won via major decision, 12-2, in the third-place bout.
 
Classmate Cade Cowley (Boulder City, Nev.), meanwhile, took fifth in the 184-pound division to cap a 5-1 effort on the day. After losing his first match, Cowley claimed four-consecutive victories via fall before earning a 4-0 decision in the fifth-place bout.
 
The Mariners return to action on Dec. 2-3 at the New Standard Invitational hosted by York College. Action begins at 3 p.m. on Friday and at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Any live links for the event will be posted on the USMMA Wrestling Schedule Page prior to action getting underway.
