How It Happened…
  • First Quarter: Despite featuring half of Gettysburg's game-high 16 penalty corners, the opening period was the only one to go without a score. The Bullets put six shots on goal, but Ford turned away each attempt.
  • Second Quarter: McDaniel managed its only shots on goal of the game with back-to-back attempts by Houska stonewalled by Caputo. The visitors remained without a goal through 29 minutes before a pair of quick strikes by Bertrando and Kratz just 24 seconds apart gave Gettysburg a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
  • Third Quarter: Gettysburg kept Ford on her heels with 10 shots, all but one of which were on goal. Soares set up the next two goals, first finding Bertrando on a penalty corner in the 36th minute before setting up Beccaria on a breakaway in the 38th minute. Fraiman jumped into the scoring column 41 seconds later to push the lead to 5-0.
  • Fourth Quarter: Kratz completed the first multi-goal game of her career just 1:03 into the period following a pass from freshman Maura Farinelli (Canonsburg, Pa./Peters Township). Beccaria found Scheuermann for the final score with 1:17 remaining.

Coach Speak
"I thought we played more effectively as a team than we have in the last couple of games. Our focus was on the process and playing smarter, and using each other more efficiently, which I thought we did today." – Head Coach Barb Jordan

Winning Streak
Gettysburg's six-game winning streak is its best since the 2005 squad won eight in a row on the way to a school-record 17 wins.

Double Trouble
Gettysburg has featured a multi-goal scorer in each of its last five games. Beccaria scored twice against Alvernia and Soares turned in back-to-back two-goal outings against Muhlenberg and Lebanon Valley. Bertrando scored two goals last time against Washington and has tallied consecutive two-goal outbursts for the second time in her career.

D-E-F-E-N-S-E
Gettysburg has held its opponent below double-figures in shots five times this season. The team posted its third shutout of 2019, which is the most since 2015.

Where the Series Stands Now
The Bullets improved to 38-7-5 all-time against the Green Terror. The seven-goal outburst was the most for Gettysburg against McDaniel since a 12-0 decision in 1960.
