EWING, NJ - Several Swarthmore College throwers traveled to The College of New Jersey to compete in the TCNJ Invitational on Saturday morning.
Adria Retter highlighted the trip with a first place finish in the discus throw and a fourth place effort in the hammer.
Jillian Provaznik also had a remarkable showing with a top-three finish in the javelin throw.
On the men's side,
Luca Cerbin placed fifth overall in the javelin to lead the Garnet.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Retter finished first overall out of 22 competitors in the discus throw. The junior posted a top throw of 46.03m on the final attempt. Retter was the only competitor to throw over 40m as five of Retter's six attempts surpassed the 40m mark.
- Retter also competed in the hammer throw as the junior earned a fourth place finish with a top effort of 40.76m.
- Provanznik was third overall in the javelin throw. The freshman recorded a top distance of 33.32m on her first attempt.
- Cerbin placed fifth overall in the javelin throw with a top distance of 48.22m on his third throw.
Xavier Serrano also participated in the event with a top mark of 40.49m.
