SALEM, Va. – The Washington and Lee wrestling team posted a 2-2 overall record while competing in the Southeast Duals held in Salem, Va., on Saturday.
 
The Generals opened with a pair of victories, defeating Otterbein by a score of 25-13 and then posting a 30-9 win over Greensboro.  W&L suffered a 34-9 setback against Millikin (Ill.) and ended the day by wrestling several reserves in a 28-15 loss to the Apprentice School.
 
Individually, W&L was led by junior 149-pounder Bryce Crew (St. Mary's, Ga. / Camden County), who went 3-0 overall with all three wins coming by fall.  Sophomore 157-pounder Nick Konovalchik (North Andover, Mass. / Brooks School) and senior 165-pounder Shane Conners (Mount Airy, Md. / South Carroll) each posted a 2-1 mark for the day, with Conners notching both of his wins by major decision.
 
First-year 125-pounder Riley Parker (Virginia Beach, Va. / First Colonial), junior 141-pounder Matt Muller (Roanoke, Va. / Patrick Henry) and sophomore 285-pounder Clay Chadwick (Arlington, Va. / Yorktown) all finished with even 2-2 marks for the day.  Both of Parker's wins came by fall.
 
Washington and Lee will return to action on Sunday when it competes in the Star City Open, which will also be held in Salem, Va.  Action begins at 11:00 am.
